Single supplements are a long-standing frustration for anyone travelling alone. They reflect the extra accommodation cost hotels charge for sole occupancy. At Specialist Journeys, we’ve negotiated hundreds of places on selected departures with no single supplement to pay, so you can enjoy a room of your own and explore the interests you love in expert company.
Browse tours by what fascinates you, from archaeology and gardens to wildlife, astronomy, history and rail.
Explore the world by destination, from Scotland and Europe to Africa, the Middle East and further afield.
Choose with confidence. Our activity levels show the pace, terrain and walking you can expect on each tour.
A charge added when one person occupies a room designed for two. It exists because hotels price by room rather than by person, and across the industry it can add a considerable amount to the cost of travelling alone.
Selected departures across our range offer places with no single supplement, and you’ll find them together on this page[LI1.1]. Places are subject to availability. Others carry a reduced supplement rather than none at all, which is worth checking if the departure you want is not on the list.
No. You have a room of your own, as you would on any departure. The difference is in what you pay for it, not what you get.
No. You’ll join the advertised tour, with its full itinerary, included visits and expert guidance. The no-single-supplement offer changes the price of having your own room, not the experience you’ve come for.
They are finite by nature, since the arrangement covers a set number of places on each departure. If one suits you, it is worth booking sooner rather than later.
Look at the reduced supplement departures as well, and get in touch. It is worth asking rather than assuming, since availability changes.
